For the second week in a row Mother Nature was kind to the Dodge County Speedway with beautiful sun-drenched skies. That coupled with all of the rain-outs of this weekend provided an overflowing pit area for night number five of racing.

This week it was “Pack The Grandstand Night” at the Dodge County Speedway with $5 admission prices in effect. A great crowd was on hand and the pits were jammed full with 115 cars in attendance.

The 2010 racing season has begun and the racing has been good, the car counts have improved and the food at the Pit Stop Grill is great. There is only one thing missing so far at the Dodge County Speedway this season and that is you, the race fan.

With less than ideal conditions, stock car racing went on this week at the Dodge County Speedway. With a light rain falling all over Southeast Minnesota, somehow it missed Kasson and racing went on as planned.

It was perfect weather for racing at the Dodge County Speedway on Sunday evening, April 18. A couple of drivers continue to be red hot in American Racer USRA Weekly Racing Series action.

There will be some changes to the divisions being run at the Dodge County Speedway for 2010, officials announced at the 2009 awards banquet on Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Byron American Legion Hall in Kasson.

Josh Angst led Steve Wetzstein by one point going into the 25-lap USRA Modified feature. Angst started in the seventh slot and Wetzstein went from row 7 after an on-track incident in his heat.

Josh Angst got his first USRA Modified win of the season Sunday at the Dodge County Speedway, leading all 25 laps of the caution-free main event.

The Freedom Series will take place July 3-5 at the Chateau Raceway, Deer Creek Speedway and Dodge County Speedway with $1,000 up for grabs each night to the USRA Modified feature winner.

field of 27 USRA Modifieds were in attendance Sunday at the Dodge County Speedway in Kasson, Minn., where Steve Wetzstein of West Concord won his third feaure in a row. Nate Wasmund came from 19th to 6th, but Wetzstein smoked them after starting seventh.

The Dodge County Speedway in Kasson, Minn., has canceled Sunday night's race program due to rain. The 2009 season opener is pushed back again to Sunday, May 3.

In what may be a first in organized racing, three of the four drivers that captured the USRA Casey's General Stores Weekly Racing Series titles in 2007 repeated the feat in 2008. Brad Waits captured his second straight USRA Modified crown, while the same can be said for Tom Schmitt (USRA Karl Chevrolet Stock Cars) and Matt Jones (USRA Karl Chevrolet B-Mods). Jason McDaniel (USRA Hobby Stocks) won his first title after finishing second last year.
