Friday night at the Humboldt Speedway, USRA Modified feature action saw Justin "Whitey" Folk claim his third feature in a row. This trip, Folk smoked everybody, including runner-up Johnny Bone Jr. At the flag, Jess Folk Jr. squeezed past Scott Daniels for third.

Chateau Raceway missed out on another night of action Friday night. Mother Nature has gotten the best of the racing season so far with more rain-outs than racing through the first two months of the season, and it looked like she added another notch in her belt this week.

Races for Friday, May 30 at the Cresco Speedway have been rained out. Action at the Howard County Fairgrounds speedplant will continue next Friday, June 6 with the USRA Casey’s General Stores Weekly Racing Series featuring USRA Modifieds, USRA Karl Chevrolet Stock Cars, USRA Karl Chevrolet B-Mods, USRA Hobby Stocks and Outlaw Hobbys.

Project Crate Engine Stock Car is officially in full operation. Last Wednesday night, May 21, Mike VanGenderen of Newton, Iowa, debuted his new USRA Stock Car at the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa. There was another twist to the debut: VanGenderen’s Stock Car was the first to compete with the GM Performance Parts 604 Crate Engine.

Racing action at the Southern Iowa Speedway was held Wednesday with the USRA Casey’s General Stores Weekly Racing Series in action, along with local teachers trying to tame the Mahaska County Half-Mile Monster in the Teacher Feature. The night's action was sponsored by Greiner Wood Frame Buildings of Washington.

With over 80 race teams in the pits Friday night, last-lap drama and close finishes set the pace in racing action at the Midway Speedway.

The action Friday Night at the MidwaySpeedway will find not only drivers competing for valuable track points, but also all military with a valid ID will be getting in for FREE in the grandstands.

The high banks of the Lebanon I-44 Speedway will not be in action on either May 24 or May 31 to put down a new dirt surface. The current red clay surface has alot of drivers concerned over tire wear and the extreme hardness on the equipment.

Eight-time champion Kelly Shryock notched his fourth O’Reilly USMTS National Tour victory of the season Thursday with a thrilling win in the 4th Annual Cresco Bowl at the Cresco Speedway in Cresco, Iowa.

The races for Friday, May 23 have been canceled due to several items that are being completed. However, the big news is that the Murray County Speedway will be opening their 2008 season on May 30 with the Grain Exchange of Slayton and Pegasus GC of Slayton sponsoring the night's events.

Local supporter and business Stevenson Insurance supports Kasson Speedway. The most important line in racing - the finish line - will be named the "Stevenson Insurance Finishline" at Kasson Speedway this season.

The sun shone brightly for the second straight Sunday at the Kasson Speedway in 2008 and the races were once again hotly contested in five regular divisions, as the Super Stocks had the night off at the Southern Minnesota speedplant.
