Rain shortens program at Fountain City
FOUNTAIN CITY, Wis. - A hard rain passed through the area earlier in the day on Friday, July 24, which made it a very saturated track at the Mississippi Thunder Speedway, but regular racing festivities got underway and the evening appeared to be well on its way as the sun was out with a gentle breeze.
However, after the Midwest Mini Mod heat races concluded, an ominous cloud closed in and the faucet was turned on. A very heavy downpour left so much water on the track that the races were canceled for the night.
With five points nights remaining in the regular season and close points in several divisions, tune in to Mississippi Thunder to see what shakes out as the season draws to an end.
USRA Modified points (top 10) - 1. Josh Angst (918), 2. John Doelle (904), 3. Brad Waits (807), 4. Hank Rollinger Jr. (806), 5. Paul Hamernik (776), 6. Adam Stockhausen (775), 7. Bob Timm (765), 8. Lance Hofer (762), 9. Kerry Ledebuhr (755), 10. Les Jonsgaard (708).
