Deer Creek Speedway is happy to announce its 2008 racing calendar for the Southern Minnesota Speedplant. On-line ticket sales for all regular events and all special events except the 2008 edition of the Gopher 50 are on sale now.

GM Performance Parts announced that effective March 1, 2008, the “RM” sealing bolts currently being used will no longer be available. What they also announced was that they are indeed working on a new program regarding the sealing of crate engines coming from the factory.

On the heels of wrapping up a thrilling and successful 2007 racing season, officials from the United States Racing Association (USRA) have released rules for four sanctioned divisions, effective January 1, 2008.

The Midway Speedway in Lebanon, Mo., will have new owners for the 2008 racing season as Lebanon businessmen Jack Jones and Tony Jackson Jr. have purchased the speedway from Harold Armstrong. The new owners will keep the action going on Friday nights, and will sanction their Modified division with the United States Racing Association (USRA).

Karl Chevrolet, one of the nation’s leaders in new and pre-owned Chevrolet vehicle sales is now powering head on into the GM Performance Parts business. In November, Stowe is scheduled to meet with USRA officials and other race organizations interested in reducing the cost of race engines and reducing the necessary time spent on engine maintenance while increasing the longevity of race engines for their competitors.

With the completion of another successful racing season at the Southern Minnesota speedplant the crew at Deer Creek Speedway is preparing for the annual awards banquet that is scheduled to be held Saturday, Nov. 17, at Grumpy’s in Grand Meadow.

The Murray County Racing Association will hold a membership meeting on Saturday, Nov.17, beginning at 1 p.m. at the Pizza Ranch in Slayton, Minn. Election of officers and grandstand discussion are the main agenda.
