The Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa, was ready to host the 13th Annual MUSCO Lighting Great American Stock Car Shootout, but Mother Nature intervened with rain and caused the event to be postponed. Action is still on as planned for Thursday, July 3, at the Cresco Speedway in Cresco, Iowa, for the 5th Annual Kabrick Distributing Great American Stock Car Challenge, while the event at Oskaloosa has been postponed to next Wednesday, July 9.

The Nobles County Speedway in Worthington, Minn., will be hosting the annual Worthington Nationals presented by Jaycox Implement and Pepsi, this Saturday and Sunday, July 5-6. A $20,000 total purse will be paid out.

Mark Dobmeier and Kyle Nordquist each recorded their third consecutive win at Huset's Speedway Sunday night in USRA Outlaw Sprint and USRA Karl Chevrolet B-Mod action, respectively. Jody Rosensoom earned his seventh feature win in ten tries in USRA Championship Sprint competition and Justin Arends scored his first win of 2008 in the USRA Hobby Stocks.

The high banks of the I-44 Speedway in Lebanon, Mo., will gear up for a special Late Model challenge event on Thursday night, July 3. Also racing on the Thursday Night Thunder card will be the USRA Modifieds with $750 to the winner.

The Midway Speedway will be providing plenty of bang-up action on Friday night, July 4, as a fireworks show will be included in the racing action as the new action track of the Ozarks will bring in America's birthday in grand style.

Mother Nature once again claimed another event at the Deer Creek Speedway on Saturday, June 28, but the month of July kicks off a busy season for the Deer Creek Speedway with some regular racing action and with specials for any drivers or fans needs.

The much-awaited reopening of the high banks of the I-44 Speedway in Lebanon, Mo., was foiled by rain on Saturday, June 28. After high reviews after the Thursday night practice session, a large field of cars were expected but Mother Nature has moved racing back another week.

Ron Luitjens - the 2006 USRA Modified National Champion - picked up the USRA Modified feaure win Friday night at the Murray County Speedway. Other winners during the USRA Casey's General Stores Weekly Racing Series were Nick Johansen (USRA Karl Chevrolet Stock Cars), Steve Bents (USRA Karl Chevrolet B-Mods) and Terry Smith (USRA Hobby Stocks).

Action was fast and furious Friday night at the Lebanon Midway Speedway with 88 race teams in the pits along with an outstanding motocross stunt driving show by Team Faith riders Tim Wilson and Terry Russell.

USRA Modified action Friday night at Humboldt Speedway featured the "usual suspect": Whitey Folk, riding the high side of The Hummer high banks on his way to still another feature win.

In a major announcement Thursday, Kasson Speedway officials revealed their plan to switch from Sunday to Thursday nights starting with NASCAR Night on July 24.

The Mississippi Valley Vintage Race Car Association (MVVRCA) event scheduled for Thursday night, June 26, at the Southern Iowa Speedway has been canceled.
