Jackson nabs first Midway Speedway USRA Modified main
LEBANON, Mo. - Under a perfect evening and a lightning-fast racy track, action continued Friday night at the Midway Spedway with 80 race teams in the pits along with three first-time 2009 winners.
Lebanon's Kris Jackson has won in many different classes of racing at the Midway Speedway, but Friday night in a dominating performance he captured his first ever USRA Modified feature win.
Starting the 15-lap event from the pole, Jackson jumped to the early lead with Jim Pearcy Jr. running beside him on the top groove with points leader Donnie Fellers following along with Danny Atkinson.
As the race stayed green, Jackson gathered even more speed as the car worked flawlessly, pulling out to a big lead.
The battle for second became tight as on lap 8 Fellers made the move on Pearcy with Rusty Dukes following behind him.
With Jackson long gone, Dukes applied pressure to Fellers, but came up short as Fellers held on to grab second with Dukes, Pearcy and Sam Petty completing the top-5.
