USRA Casey’s General Stores Weekly Racing Series results for Friday, July 18, from the Cresco (Iowa) Speedway.

As the cars and stars of the O’Reilly USMTS National Tour continue to blaze a trail throughout America’s heartland this summer, fans and drivers alike can expect some added excitement from the stars of NASCAR at a pair of upcoming events.

The colorful and legendary Jimmy Spencer will join in the fun when fellow NASCAR veterans Ken Schrader and Kenny Wallace take on the Masters of Modifieds at a pair of legendary ovals in the Hawkeye State.

The Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa, was ready to host the 13th Annual MUSCO Lighting Great American Stock Car Shootout, but Mother Nature intervened with rain and caused the event to be postponed. Action is still on as planned for Thursday, July 3, at the Cresco Speedway in Cresco, Iowa, for the 5th Annual Kabrick Distributing Great American Stock Car Challenge, while the event at Oskaloosa has been postponed to next Wednesday, July 9.

Heavy rains throughout the past two nights has left standing water in both turns, making track preparation impossible for track workers. Furthermore, officials discovered this morning that a lightning strike sometime in the past 48 hours has disabled the track lighting and other areas needing electrical power.

Races for Friday, May 30 at the Cresco Speedway have been rained out. Action at the Howard County Fairgrounds speedplant will continue next Friday, June 6 with the USRA Casey’s General Stores Weekly Racing Series featuring USRA Modifieds, USRA Karl Chevrolet Stock Cars, USRA Karl Chevrolet B-Mods, USRA Hobby Stocks and Outlaw Hobbys.

Eight-time champion Kelly Shryock notched his fourth O’Reilly USMTS National Tour victory of the season Thursday with a thrilling win in the 4th Annual Cresco Bowl at the Cresco Speedway in Cresco, Iowa.

On Thursday, May 22, the rugged road warriors of the O’Reilly USMTS National Tour head to the Cresco Speedway in Cresco, Iowa, for the 4th Annual Cresco Bowl. The event will be the first of five straight to kick off action in the ultra-competitive Yeager Machine Upper Midwest Region.

The season opener at the Cresco Speedway has been delayed one more week due to the extremely wet conditions at the Speedway. Soggy grounds has not allowed for proper time to work on the track and we do not want to start the season out with a rough racetrack.
