A stout field of competitors were on hand Thursday night as the Cresco Speedway hosted the 6th Annual Great American Stock Car Challenge presented by Kabrick Distributing with big money on the line in all four American Racer USRA Weekly Racing Series divisions.

The American Racer USRA Weekly Racing Series was back in action Sunday on the lightning-fast 4/10-mile clay oval of the Cresco Speedway in Cresco, Iowa, with another "Licensed to Thrill" night featuring free grandstand admission to residents of Decorah and Waukon.

The Deery Brothers Summer Series ends a lengthy absence from the Mighty Howard County Fairgrounds on Tuesday, Aug. 25, as Subway hosts the Late Model tour for their first event at the Cresco Speedway since 1996. The event was originally slated for June 11 but was rained-out.

Feature winners on the evening were Darrin Walch of Postville in the USRA Modifieds and Matt Jones in the USRA Karl Chevrolet B-Mods. Rain fell on the speedway soon thereafter and forced the postponement of the USRA Karl Chevrolet Stock Car and USRA Hobby Stock features until next Tuesday.
