However, a new program was created to attempt to get more money into the hands of drivers that don’t often see the winners circle in the main event, and spread the purse out a bit.

O’Reilly USMTS National Tour drivers got an early start to their Spring Break on Thursday when USMTS officials announced that all three events scheduled for this weekend have been postponed due to heavy rainfall in the Southeast Iowa and Northwest Illinois area.

The action-packed 2008 race season is set to begin Friday night at the Midway Speedway in Lebanon, Mo., with the first points show of the season. The Midway Speedway is ready to begin its fourth full season of racing and has set a very aggressive schedule for this season with a geat mixture of regular shows and special events.

In an effort to support the drivers and address rising travel costs, Kasson Speedway officials unveiled a support program today designed to support participation and loyalty. Any USRA Modified driver that has perfect attendance will receive a $300 guarantee against their track points fund, regardless of finish.

Race fans attending the Friday night races this summer at the Murray County Speedway in Slayton, Minn., will be treated to a new grandstand from which to watch the wheel-to-wheel action.

Some of the cars competing this season will be showing off their 2008 looks as the Lebanon I-44 Speedway, along with the Monett Speedway, will be displayed this weekend at the Battlefield Mall in Springfield, Mo., starting Friday, March 7, and will be there all weekend long through March 9.
