United States Racing Association officials have announced that the previously scheduled season opener for the newly-created USRA Late Models has been changed. Originally slated for April 20 at the Mountain Dew Bloomfield Speedway, the $3,000-to-win inaugural event for the USRA Late Models will now be hosted at the Pepsi Scotland County Speedway on Saturday, April 28.

Officials from RL Promotions have announced that the previously scheduled April 6-7 season openers have been postponed. The season opener at the Mountain Dew Bloomfield Speedway will now be Friday, April 13, and the season opener at the Pepsi Scotland County Speedway will now be Saturday, April 14.

The 2007 season will mark the first time that the high-powered division will compete under the USRA banner, and all events will carry a top prize of $2,000 to win.

On Friday night, Jan. 5, RL Promotions honored the drivers from three tracks at the Hotel Ottumwa (Iowa) with a large crowd on hand for the awards celebration. Family, friends and sponsors were on hand to see Nathan Wood take home a truckload of hardware, including a special award from promoter Todd Staley who presented Wood with the first-ever RL Promotions Driver of the Year Award.
