Frost Buster to kick off season at Pepsi Scotland County Speedway
MEMPHIS, Mo. -- The 2007 racing season at the Pepsi Scotland County Speedway in Memphis, Mo., is set to kick off this Saturday, March 31, with the inaugural Frost Buster.
It’s been five long months since the last checkered flag waved at the Pepsi Scotland County Speedway and this Saturday will launch another exciting year for the 3/8-mile clay oval speedplant.
USRA-sanctioned Modifieds, Stock Cars, B-Mods, Hobby Stocks and Outlaw Hobbys will all be in action. A top prize of $600 will go to the feature winner in the Modified division, Stock Cars will battle for $400 to win and B-Mods will compete for $300 to win. Drivers in both the Hobby Stock and Outlaw Hobby classes will vie for $300 to win.
National points toward the USRA Casey’s General Stores Weekly Racing Series will be awarded to USRA-licensed drivers. However, a USRA license and/or track registration is not required to race at this event and there is no entry fee.
All USRA rules will apply for the Modifieds, Stock Cars and Hobby Stocks, with Pepsi Scotland County Speedway rules governing the B-Mods and Outlaw Hobbys. American Racer is the Official Tire of the USRA, and any driver seeking to receive USRA national points must use the American Racer KK-704 racing tire. The Hoosier G60 tire will also be allowed for this race, but must be mounted on all four wheels with no grooving allowed. For complete USRA rules, visit www.usraracing.com online.
Gates will open at 2 p.m., with hot laps at 6 and racing at 6:30. Grandstand admission will be $10 for adults, juniors (12-17) and seniors (62 and older) are $8 and kids 11 and under get in for FREE. Pit passes will be $25.
