Jim Chisholm won the Medieval USRA Stock Car main event.

The stars fell from the sky and landed on the Mason City Motor Speedway on Sunday as the Action Track of the North Iowa Fairgrounds welcomed the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series presented by Fertilizer Equipment Specialists.

Two-time USRA B-Mod national champ and currently one of the hottest USRA Modified drivers in the country, Jim Chisholm of Osage led wire to wire to win the main event for the Medieval USRA Stock Cars.

Second went to Josh Zieman of Plymouth, Derek Green of Granada, Minn., was third, Chanse Hollatz of Clear Lake took the fourth spot and the top five was rounded out by Brayden Gjere of Mabel, Minn.

In USRA B-Mod action, younger brother Joe Chisholm of Osage clawed his way from 12th on the starting grid to take the win—his second straight at the Mason City Motor Speedway.

Two-time USRA B-Mod national champ Brandon Hare of Elma took second, followed by Jett Sorensen of Rochester, Minn., George Nordman of Mason City and 15-th starting Josh Appel of Garner.

Dustin Gulbrandson of Sioux Falls, S.D., started sixth and drove his No. 6 machine to the winner’s circle in the USRA Hobby Stock feature race.

West Union’s Dylan Clinton and Cresco’s Chris Hovden followed in second and third while Carter Koop of Rockwell was fourth and Zac Smith of Manly fifth.

National title contender Oliver Monson of Thornton topped the USRA Tuners with Devin Jones of Mason City and Braiden Schaufenbuel of New Hampton completing the podium.

During Sunday’s program, officials with the Mason City Motor Speedway presented the Make-A-Wish Foundation with a check for $40,264 from proceeds during last week’s Race For A Wish event. Thank you to every individual, company and organization that gave of their money and time to help reach this tremendous results.

Zieman Memorial, Season Championships next: One week from today on Sunday, Aug. 28, the MCMS will host the Ted Zieman Memorial along with Season Championships presented by Trustile Doors.

Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series track champions will be crowned in the USRA Modifieds, Medieval USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Mods, USRA Hobby Stocks and USRA Tuners, as well as Outlaw Mini Mods.

A top prize of $1,000 awaits the winner of the Medieval USRA Stock Car main event.
