Scott Winters took off from his pole position in the USRA Outlaw Sprint Car feature and outraced Justin Henderson to claim his first win of 2008 Sunday night. In USRA Championship Sprint action, it was Jody Rosenboom once again topping the field while Ben VanVooren checkered first in USRA Karl Chevrolet B-Mod action for the second time this season and Tommy Barber claimed his fourth USRA Hobby Stock trophy of the year.

A cool day for July was in store for the fans and drivers who headed out to Deer Creek Speedway on Saturday. With this being the third night of racing in eight days a very nice crowd and a good field of cars took to the speedway on Clement’s Auto Night, along with associate sponsors L & D Ag of Heartland and Rent & Save of Austin.

The 2008 Davis County Fair race was a very special night and a very emotional night with the races being dedicated in memory of 16-year-old Jordan Johnson who lost his life on Monday evening. Several drivers made there way through the crowd to collect donations for the Johnson family.

The Midway Speedway provided plenty of excitement and action as the Action Track of The Ozarks hosted the 2nd Annual Larry Phillips Birthday Bash with over 135 race teams in the pits.

Things were hot all the way around Friday night at the Chateau Raceway powered by Miners Outdoor Power & Recreation. With temperatures around the 90-degree mark, and the heat index up there as well, it was more than just the action on the track that was hot.

The near total domination of late in the USRA Modified division has seen Justin "Whitey" Folk hammer a lot of tough competition. His own brother, Jess Folk Jr., came close to pulling off a win to break the spell Friday night. Unfortunately for Jess, close doesn't get it done.

With the World of Outlaws Late Model Series in town, the USRA Modifieds joined the program Wednesday, July 9, for the Gopher 50 at the Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minn. In the end, Tim Donlinger beat Todd Scharkey to the checkered flag, with defending O'Reilly USMTS National Champion Jason Krohn third.

The Midway Speedway is getting ready for the 2nd annual Larry Phillips Birthday Bash on Friday night, July 11. The race, named in the honor of former great driving star Larry Phillips, is ran one week later than his birthday, which was July 3.

Stock Cars and B-Mods will join the program when the O'Reilly USMTS National Tour invades the famed Belleville High Banks on Aug. 11. For licensed USRA drivers, the event at the Belleville High Banks will also award national points in the USRA Casey's General Stores Weekly Racing Series for the USRA Karl Chevrolet Stock Cars and USRA Karl Chevrolet B-Mods.
