OSKALOOSA, Iowa – Mother Nature reared her ugly head again Wednesday, forcing the second straight cancellation at the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Plans to race on Thursday this week have also been scrapped as the track and pit area are simply too deluged to get prepared in time for racing.

After two quiet Wednesday nights at the Mahaska County Half-Mile Monster, fans and drivers alike will be pumped up and ready to go when racing action returns on Wednesday, July 1, for the MUSCO Lighting Great American Stock Car Shootout.

On tap will be the American Racer USRA Weekly Racing Series featuring MUSCO Lighting USRA Modifieds, USRA Karl Chevrolet Stock Cars, USRA Karl Chevrolet B-Mods and USRA Hobby Stocks.

The best Stock Car drivers in Iowa and the surrounding States will be on hand to battle for a $2,000 winner's share of the purse while the Hobby Stock main event will carry a $500 top prize.

The pits will open at 5 p.m. and grandstand gates will open at 5:30, with hot laps at 7:00 and racing at 7:30 p.m. sharp.

The Southern Iowa Speedway is a half-mile semi-banked clay oval located 0.5 mile west of US 63 on SR 92, then 0.3 mile north on N. I St. (at the Southern Iowa Fairgrounds).
