SPRING VALLEY, Minn. - Deer Creek Speedway held their first kids club meeting today and a large turnout of kids were on hand to tour local fire trucks, police cars ambulance and EMT vehicles. Later kids took tours of the pits and the racetrack on the Deer Creek cruiser bus and watched races from the infield as the racing activities took place on Snap on Tools and Old Dutch Potato Chips night at the speedway.

Josh Angst and Bob Timm sped off into turn one on lap one of the EZ Fabricating USRA Modified feature event with Timm taking a slight edge out of turn two.

Jason Cummins moved past Angst to take over second on lap two with Jacob Dahle following him into third.

With three completed Timma and Cummins were side by side for the lead. Angst was now racing Greg Jensen for fourth.

With twenty to go Cummins finally took over the lead but two laps later slowed in one and two bringing out the caution.

Timm led on the restart with Dahle in second and Angst in third while Nate Wasmund was now racing Jensen and Jay Ihrke for fourth.

Wasmund started twelfth on the field and Ihrke eleventh as they charged their way forward.

With fifteen to go Mike Sorensen was now moving and was up to third as he started racing Angst for second as Dahle slipped back to fourth. Two laps later the three of them went three wide for second across the line.

Sorensen took second as Angst and Dahle keep racing side by side for third. With ten to go Wasmund moved past Dahle for the fourth spot.

The last eight laps were wildly entertaining with Angst in second Sorensen trying hard to get around him and Wasmund, Ihrke and Dahle three wide for fourth.

Angst got a good run on Timm with five to go while Wasmund and Sorensen raced for third.

Timm held on for the win followed by Angst, Wasmund, Sorensen and Ihrke. Heat races were won by Wasmund, Cummins and Ihrke.

Next week racing action resumes while fans from Austin, Lyle, Rose Creek, Blooming Prairie, Waltham, Lansing, Sargeant, Claremont, Dodge Center and Medford get into the stands for free.
