What a picture perfect day for racing in Southern Minnesota on Saturday with blue skies, a light breeze and mid-70s temps. The crowd was absolutely awesome on the night and the drivers showed up in force with 141 cars checking into the back gate on Championship Night at the Deer Creek Speedway.
It was a picture perfect night for the second-to-last night of track points at the Deer Creek Speedway. The USRA Modifieds definitely did not want to be left out of the exciting feature racing action that had already taken place. Front row starters Todd Scharkey and Brad Waits would see to that.
Jason Cummins continues to prove he belongs in the same category as top area drivers Tim Donlinger and Brad Waits this season. Donlinger has led the Deer Creek Speedway points race all season until Waits took over the lead after Saturday's races.
With approval form WISSOTA and USRA officials, Deer Creek Speedway has added a Sunday night race to their schedule for the 2008 season. The race is to be held on Sunday, Aug. 24, with a 5 p.m. start time.
Brad Waits had the high groove working to perfection and took home the win, while Bob Timm took second with Tommy Meyer, Todd Scharkey and Walch rounding out the top five.
Another picture perfect day for racing befell on southern Minnesota on this last weekend of July. Med City Collision and Firestone of Austin were the evenings sponsors with plenty of free stuff to give away to the kids including a pair of bikes.
A cool day for July was in store for the fans and drivers who headed out to Deer Creek Speedway on Saturday. With this being the third night of racing in eight days a very nice crowd and a good field of cars took to the speedway on Clement’s Auto Night, along with associate sponsors L & D Ag of Heartland and Rent & Save of Austin.
With the World of Outlaws Late Model Series in town, the USRA Modifieds joined the program Wednesday, July 9, for the Gopher 50 at the Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minn. In the end, Tim Donlinger beat Todd Scharkey to the checkered flag, with defending O'Reilly USMTS National Champion Jason Krohn third.
