A little gusty with the winds today but otherwise temps hovered in the upper 70’s and the weather was perfect as a nice crowd gathered throughout the day's racing activities Saturday at the Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minn.
Finally a picture perfect day for racing in Southern Minnesota. Clear blue skies, a slight breeze and temps hovering around 80 degrees. The facility dried out from all of the rain and very good track conditions greeted the fans and drivers on John Hardy’s Bar-B-Que and US Army Night at the Deer Creek Speedway.
A quarter-inch of rain fell on the Deer Creek Speedway at 4:30 p.m., delaying the racing activity by two hours on Saturday. Most of the drivers and crowd hung around and saw great racing action all night long.
A warm but Breezy day found a good field of cars and a nice crowd on hand for the Island Pool and Spa day at the Deer Creek Speedway. Tim Donlinger has had the hot hand at the redraw box through the first two weeks of the season. Both times Donlinger drew the front row redraw for the feature event.
Another great week leading up to another rainout. With great weather all week the crews have been busy putting the final touches on many needed projects only to have Mother Nature wash away all of the hard work.
After receiving one inch of rain in the past 24 hours, the crew at Deer Creek Speedway went about the task of preparing the racing surface for their season opener. It was the opener but it didn’t feel like it to many as the four week delay from Mother Nature took away some of the hype normally associated with the opening weekend.
