The 2017 racing season will see some new champions and additional points funds and contingency awards available for drivers competing in the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series.

Beginning in 2017, Summit Racing Equipment will be the title sponsor of the USRA Weekly Racing Series, and The World’s Speed Shop™ will be the Official High Performance Source of the USRA.

Randy Mooneyham, who's been at the helm of the Monett Speedway for the majority of its 47 years, told RacinDirt.com that he has sold the track to USRA Modified competitor Kyle Slagle.

The new Distribution Center is designed to process orders quickly and efficiently. It will be large enough to stock thousands of parts from over 1,200 manufacturers, ready for immediate delivery.

The 47th season at the Monett Speedway will kick off on Friday, April 8, with six featured classes scheduled to race, headlined by USRA Modifieds and Out-Pace USRA B-Mods.

A record 228 people attended Saturday night’s annual USRA Awards Banquet in the Star Pavilion located at the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Kansas City as the USRA closed the curtain on the 2015 season.

The USRA closed the curtain on the 2015 season Oct. 25, and with points tallied and audited, the USRA has officially crowned four drivers from four states as 2015 USRA National Champions.
