Kory Ressie won the USRA Late Model main event.

The fourth straight night of racing at the Lucas Oil Speedway featured six divisions in action with two of them wrapping up their week as 9th Annual Summit USRA Nationals champions.

The USRA Late Models made their debut at the “Diamond of Dirt Tracks” yesterday and Friday night Kory Ressie of Alma, Wis., bested sixth-starting Larry Fitzsimmons of, East Bethel, Minn., to etch his name in the record books as a Summit USRA Nationals champion.

“It was a nine-hour trip down here, but this makes it worth it,” Ressie said. "We struggled a little bit last night, but were better tonight."

Dylan Kromschroeder of Cambridge, Minn., who won the previous night’s preliminary feature, finished third with Michael Hucovski of Corcoran, Minn., following in fourth.

Chad Prissel of Mondovi, Wis., rounded out the top five with Steven O'Brien Jr., Pat Kelley, Tim Steinhaus and Gibby Steinhaus following to the finish line.

Meanwhile, an aggressive field of 29 USRA Tuners waged a 20-lap war with Castalia, Iowa’s Brad Stahl getting the victory ahead of 10th-starting Sean Leasure of Mansfield, Texas.

"I saw Oliver (Monson) and he had the run and I was like 'Oh no.' I don't know what happened," Stahl said. "I was just trying to hold my line. I didn't want to spin him out or anything. He's fast. There's a reason he's leading national points. He's a dang good driver."

A pair of national title contenders from Texarkana, Ark.—Justin Converse and 11th-starting Greyson Wooten—took home third- and fourth-place paychecks while Katie Stahl of Castalia, Iowa, raced from 13th on the grid to complete the top five.

Brad Stahl won the USRA Tuner main event.

The rest of the top 10 at the checkered flag were Robert Tosh, Dakota Cooper, Jaytn Goldman, Dylan Whitley and Tyler Crimmins.

USRA Limited Mods and Sunoco USRA Factory Stock ran complete shows of heat races and preliminary features in the Summit USRA Nationals debut for both classes.

Timmy Johnson of Hydro, Okla., won the 18-lap main event with Adam Roy of Hooks, Texas, Aaron Roy of Texarkana, Texas,13th-starting Brandon Williams of Tyler, Texas, and Conner Williams of Sibley, La., rounding out the top five.

Timmy Johnson won the USRA Limited Mod main event.

Sunoco USRA Factory Stock action saw Colton Tanner of Corsicana, Texas, triumph with Phil Dixon of Crosby, Texas, finishing second, Steve Blunk of Enid, Okla., in third, Albert McCall Jr. of Crandall, Texas, fourth and Craig Pursley of New Waverly, Texas, crossing the stripe in fifth.

Colton Tanner won the Sunoco USRA Factory Stock main event.

Two last chance races were needed for the Medieval USRA Stock Cars with Butch Bailey of Novelty and Stoutland’s Derek Brown picking up wins. Henry Chambers of Baldwin City, Kan., captured the lone last chancer race for the USRA B-Mods.

Summit USRA Nationals finale Saturday: The Summit USRA Nationals continues Saturday with an alphabet soup of D-mains, C-mains and B-mains are on tap for the USRA Modifieds, Medieval USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Mods and USRA Hobby Stocks.

USRA Limited Mods and Sunoco USRA Factory Stocks will run a complete show of heats and consolation races (if any), and all classes will wrap up the program with their championship features.

The pits will open at 1 p.m. (cleared at 3:30) while spectator gates open at 4. The drivers’ meeting is at 4:30 and racing gets underway at 5.
