It's that time of the year again when fans can let their votes be counted by helped to select Lucas Oil Speedway's Most Popular Driver Award.

Online voting for the award is underway and will conclude on Oct. 14. Fans can cast their vote at cast their vote at lucasoilspeedway.com/vote with the top 10 drivers in season points in the USRA Modifieds, Medieval USRA Stock Cars and USRA B-Mods listed on the ballot, along with Hermitage Lumber Late Models.

One vote per email address is permitted.

Winner of the award will be announced at Lucas Oil Speedway's post-season awards banquet later this fall. Details on the banquet will be announced in upcoming weeks.

Cedar Creek Beef Jerky USRA Modified track champion Dillon McCowan of Urbana was named Most Popular Driver in 2021.

In other news, USRA Modified driver Jimmy Dowell was the winner of the recent drivers ticket giveaway with 49 of his 50 available tickets redeemed on Rempfer Memorial Season Championship Night. Dowell wins a season pit pass for a crew member for the 2023 season.

Summit USRA Nationals nears: The 9th Annual Summit USRA Nationals happens Monday through Saturday, Oct. 3-8, at the Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo.

The biggest event on dirt will kick off with an open practice on Monday, and then racing will take place every night from Tuesday through Saturday. All eight USRA-sanctioned classes will participate at one time or another during the six-day event.

The Summit Shootout also returns this year and will take place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and feature USRA track champions and Summit Shootout qualifying race winners to compete in this one-of-a-kind blockbuster battle royale for Modified, Stock Car, B-Mod and Hobby Stock competitors.
