With only two events remaining on the Big Adventure RV Weekly Racing Series schedule, Lucas Oil Speedway track championships remain tightly contested in two divisions.

Action resumes on Saturday with Public Safety Appreciation Night presented by KOLR with all police, fire and rescue personnel admitted free with ID.

Things are much tighter in two classes, especially the Medieval USRA Stock Cars where Rob White of Lebanon has a narrow five-point lead over his son, Bryan White. Mason Beck of Urbana is just 16 behind the leader.

The USRA B-Mods finds Kris Jackson of Lebanon continuing his pursuit of a seventh track championship. Jackson has five feature wins but is just 25 points clear of Springfield's Ryan Gillmore as the regular season nears the finish.

Gillmore picked up his first feature win of the speedway season in the last program held on Aug. 6.

Dillon McCowan of Urbana has led the USRA Modified standings since the season began. The reigning champ has six feature wins and has a 49-point cushion over Dustin Hodges of Centralia.

Drivers' free ticket pick-up: Weekly Racing Series drivers can receive up to 50 free general admission tickets upon check-in on Saturday for the Aug. 27 Rempfer Memorial Season Championship Night.

Drivers with the most tickets used on Aug. 27 will win one free season pit pass for 2023.

Gates to the dirt track open at 4 p.m. with hot laps at 6:30 and racing at 7:05.

Off Road Saturday afternoon: UTV short-course racers return to the off-road track for a day-time program on Saturday with gates opening at 9 a.m., practice at 10 and heat race action tentatively set for noon. The program will be completed by 5 p.m.

Fans purchasing a ticket to the off-road action will be admitted free to the dirt track.
