Cummins comes up golden again at Deer Creek

SPRING VALLEY, Minn. - Jason Cummins continues to prove he belongs in the same category as top area drivers Tim Donlinger and Brad Waits this season.

Donlinger has led the Deer Creek Speedway points race all season until Waits took over the lead after Saturday's races.

Waits, the defending USRA Modified National Champion, has won three features at Deer Creek.

Like Donlinger and Waits, Cummins is now a multiple-feature winner at Deer Creek this summer as he drove his Skyrocket into victory lane for the second time this season on Saturday night.

Cummins, Waits and Donlinger are the only drivers to win at Deer Creek this year.

"It feels better than I can describe," Cummins told the crowd. "It's like the car says, it's a Skyrocket. We've had a few mishaps, but we can't complain. The hard work and dedication we've put into it, it's all worth it."

The next scheduled races at Deer Creek are Aug. 16 at 6 p.m. which will be the next-to-last track points races of the season.
