NLMS round 2 at Mason City up next

GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. (Aug. 25, 2025)—The USRA Kevko Racing Northern Lights Modified Series presented by Real Racing Wheels returns to Mason City Motor Speedway this Sunday, Aug. 24, for its second visit of the 2025 season. When the series last rolled into Mason City, multi-time USMTS national champion Rodney Sanders appeared destined for victory until Jacob Bleess made a late-race pass to steal the win.
Bleess enters this weekend second in the championship standings, trailing series point leader Brandon Davis as the season winds into its final three events. Rookie of the Year contender Harley Dais also remains a storyline to watch. Dais nearly claimed his first career NLMS victory in the last series event at Fairmont Raceway, finishing runner-up to Josh Angst.
Looking ahead to Mason City, Dais shared his excitement about returning to the high-banked speedway: “We had a really good run and nearly picked off a win last time out at Fairmont Speedway. Mason isn’t as big, but it’s really fast, and I’m feeling really comfortable in my Rage Chassis by Jake Timm Modified right now. Not only is this Sunday a Northern Lights event, but it’s also championship weekend at Mason City for the local track title, and we’ve got a big lead there. I’m looking forward to sealing that up and celebrating a great year this weekend at Mason City!”
Sunday’s main event will pay $2,000 to win and $350 to start the A-Main, with a strong field of Northern Lights Modifieds expected to battle it out alongside the Mason City Motor Speedway track championship finale.
Following Mason City, only the two-night Kickass Beef Jerky North Star Nationals at Mississippi Thunder Speedway remain on the 2025 Northern Lights Modified Series schedule. The North Star Nationals will see drivers race for a pair of $2,000 to win shows, while the season champion will lay claim to a $7,500 payday.
