Davis rebounds at Winneshiek

DECORAH, Iowa (Aug. 2, 2025)—Just one night after suffering his first DNF of the season due to mechanical issues, Brandon Davis bounced back in a big way by this last Saturday night capturing the USRA Northern Lights Modified Series Special presented by Weis GMC at Winneshiek Raceway.
Joe Horgdal led the field to green for the 30-lap A-Main, but it was Jacob Bleess who quickly jumped out front in the early going. Behind Bleess, Davis quickly dispatched the 29H of Horgdall and dialed in the rifle sights on the Kevko Racing sponsored 21. Once Davis was able to catch Bleess, the two raced side by side for several laps before Davis finally secured the top spot just before the halfway mark.
From there, it was all Brandon Davis. The A-Main ran caution-free from start to finish, allowing the Minnesota driver to cruise to a convincing victory and extend his impressive season resume.
Josh Angst came home in second, followed by early race leader Jacob Bleess in third. Joe Horgdal held on for a solid fourth-place finish, while Shadren Turner, who set quick time in Detherage Opticians qualifying and won Rick Beebe Heating and Air Conditioning Heat Race 2, completed the top five. Bleess claimed the win in SS Fishing Rental Heat Race 1.
The USRA Northern Lights Modified Series continues this Friday February 8th at the Fairmont Raceway in Fairmont, MN for the 2nd Annual Dwaine Hanson Memorial.
