Hamilton County too wet; Friday off, Saturay on for Iron Man USRA Stock Cars

WEBSTER CITY, Iowa—The Iron Man USRA Stock Car Series shows for Friday at the Karl Chevrolet Hamilton County Speedway is canceled. More than three inches of rain has fallen on the Hamilton County Fairgrounds since Sunday.
"We will see what tomorrow brings and decide Friday afternoon on Saturday races.," said USRA President and Hamilton County Speedway promoter Todd Staley.
As of Thursday, the KS Engineering Iron Man USRA Stock Car Series driven by Terminator Chassis will be in Webster City, Iowa, on Saturday, April 26. Fresh off a thrilling season opener last month, this historic half-mile oval, a cornerstone of Iowa dirt racing since 1910, is primed for a weekend of high-speed showdowns.
Saturday’s main event feature a $2,000-to-win top prize. Complementing the USRA Stock Cars, fans will enjoy USRA Modifieds, USRA B-Mods, USRA Hobby Stocks and the fast-growing Crown Vic class both nights, with drivers in USRA-sanctioned divisions earning Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series national points.
The Iron Man Series, known for its fierce competition, drew nearly 50 stock car drivers per night at its opening races last month at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mp., with victories claimed by Derek Green of Granada, Minn.; Jeffrey Abbey of Rhome, Texas; and Rodney Schweizer of Kansas City, Kan.
Abbey leads the standings with 286 points. Jaylen Wettengel of Topeka, Kan., is second with 266 points, followed by Green (257), Schweizer (255) and Iowa native Pat Graham of Ankeny (229).
The Karl Chevrolet Hamilton County Speedway, renowned for its wide racing surface and loyal fanbase, has been a Midwest motorsports landmark for over a century. Nestled in Webster City, the track blends rich tradition with top-tier facilities, making it a driver and fan favorite.

Opening in July 1910, the Karl Chevrolet Hamilton County Speedway is the oldest speedway in the state of Iowa. In 1938, work began on the current location at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds. The semi-banked half-mile dirt track was completed in the spring of 1939, and the first races were held on the track in September of that year.
The Karl Chevrolet Hamilton County Speedway is located off US 20 at exit 140, then 1.2 miles north, then 0.5 mile east on Bank St., then 0.4 mile south on Bluff St. to the Hamilton County Fairgrounds in Webster City, Iowa. The physical address is 1200 Bluff St, Webster City, IA 50595.

Guaranteed Iron Man points fund: 1. $5000, 2. $3500, 3. $2500, 4. $2000, 5. $1700, 6. $1500, 7. $1200, 8. $1100, 9. $1000, 10. $1000. This is in addition to any track, regional of national points funds that my be earned in the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series.
The series points will be based on each driver’s best 14 points efforts throughout the 2025 campaign. USRA rules will be enforced, and every driver must possess a USRA license or purchase a $10 temp license.
An Iron Man membership is $300 for the season and will get member drivers an extra $50 above payout at all events, either at check-in or at the pay window for all one-day events at one racetrack.
Members will also be eligible for contingencies at each event, plus one of two provisionals awarded at each race to the highest in Iron Man points that fail to qualify for the A-Main.
