Current USRA Modified points leader Jimmy Willis is proving that statement to be true as he took the lead on lap 2 and held off repeated challanges from Justin Neuman and Eric Hudson to take his second feature win of the 2008 racing season Friday night at the Midway Speedway.

Defending O’Reilly USMTS National Champion Jason Krohn notched his fourth main event victory of the season Tuesday with an impressive wire-to-wire run at the Cresco Speedway. Krohn drew the pole for the 40-lap Holley "A" Main, and when the green flag dropped, that was just about as close as anybody got to the flying farmer from Slayton, Minn.
Caney Valley Speedway gets facelift, opens Aug. 2

The Caney Valley Speedway in Caney, Kan., will reopen this Saturday, Aug. 2, for the first weekly racing program at the 1/4-mile semi-banked clay oval in Southern Kansas for the first time since April 2004. USRA Modifieds will headline the program.

It was a night of first-time winners in the 2008 racing season at the I-44 Speedway Saturday night as the track crew fought quick-moving incoming storms to complete the racing card. While veeteran Rex Merritt tried several times to make the pass, it was Steve Picou grabbing his first win of the season in his first start.
