Clint Garner outlasted Terry McCarl to win his first USRA Outlaw Sprint Car feature event of the season Sunday night at Huset's Speedway. Jody Rosenboom scored the win in USRA 360 Sprint Car competion and Tommy Barber recorded his first ever win in the Next Generation Sprint Cars while Colter Deutsch and Shaun Taylor grabbed wins in USRA Karl Chevrolet B-Mod and USRA Hobby Stock action.

Following two cancellations due to rain and/or poor track conditions, Decorah’s Upper Iowa Speedway finally had a chance to roar back to life this past Saturday night to get the 2009 season underway.

Deer Creek Speedway and the Queensland Family would like to announce Jeff Olson as the new Activities Director for the facility. Olson is currently enrolled in Sports Management at Mankato State University and will be heading all of the activities associated with the fans and sponsors throughout each race night.

Mother Nature was the big winner for the second week in a row as Chateau Raceway powered by Miners Outdoor & Rec was forced to cancel the races because of rain Friday night. It’s the third show the track has lost to weather this year.

The season opener had to wait one day but a beautiful evening for racing at the Southern Iowa Speedway Thursday night was worth the wait with four exciting classes heating up the Mahaska County Half-Mile Monster for the first time in 2009.
