Terry McCarl passed Scott Winters with 14 laps to go then held off a hard-charging Mark Dobmeier to record his second USRA Outlaw Sprint Car feature win of the season Sunday night at the Huset's Speedway.
The final race of the night Saturday at the Deer Creek Speedway saw the USRA Modifieds racing for $1,250 to win as Nate Wasmund captured his first regular season win of his career at the facility.
Despite a two-hour slow steady afternoon rain, the Firecracker Special at the Midway Speedway provided plenty of tight racing action Friday night along with a beautiful fireworks show at intermission with 72 race teams checking into the pits.
Light rain sprinkles which had greeted fans and drivers alike as they were showing up for the races let up in time to get the show started. Unfortunately, six laps into the USRA Modified feature it started up again and the race was red-flagged. The event will be completed next Friday night, July 10.
