Grays Harbor Raceway has doubleheader at hand

ELMA, Wash. -- The Grays Harbor Raceway will have not one but two action packed shows for this weekend. Friday, June 22, will be race six of the Wild Wild West Modified Shootout with Hobby Stocks and Hornets on hand for the support classes. Then on Saturday, June 23, the 360 Sprints will return to the always fast 3/8 mile oval along with the USAC Ford Focus Midgets, Hornets, and Hobby Stocks. Friday night there will be an admission special running exclusively for the event as a car load of fans will get into the races for only $25 Friday night only.
The home turf will be defended fiercely by some of the local talent including Scott Miller who has three wins this season already. Other drivers who have visited victory lane include Joe German, Tom Sweatman, Lawrence O’Conner, and Zack Simpson. Jason Tole has had a fantastic 2012 season winning four features this season but the most recent race winner Brian Harding, who has two wins, is trying to reel in Tole for most wins this year. Chad Norton still has the leading totals when it comes to main event victories in the Hornets this season but is joined by Jake Mills, Brian Norton, and Kyle Mast.
Jared Peterson has two wins to his credit in three USAC Ford Focus Midgets action as Garrett Johnson is the only other feature winner this season. In 360 Sprints there have been four races and there have been four different winners. Defending champion Henry Van Dam won the last 360 Sprint feature and joined J.J. Hickle, Rick Fauver, and Jay Cole as main event winners this season.
For both nights admission is the following: Adults $13, Senior (62+)/Juniors (15-18)/Military $10, Youths (6-14) $5, Youths (5 and Under) FREE, Family Pass (Two Adults and Up To Four Youths) $30, and Premium Seating $20. Gates open at 2:30 for the pits and 4:30 for the grandstands with racing starting at 6:30.
The Grays Harbor Raceway is known for its high speeds and side by side racing as well as its large size. Hosting regular racing action from April to September with 360 Sprints, USRA Modifieds, USAC Midgets, Hobby Stocks, and Hornets as regular classes. In addition the venue will host the World of Outlaw Sprint Car Series and American Sprint Car Series-National Tour.
