I-35 Speedway opens season this Saturday
I-35 Speedway is racing this Saturday, March 25, as the track launches the 2023 Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series with the McCarthy Auto Group Season Opener. Come and enjoy the sights, the sounds, the smells, the taste and the feel of horsepower shaking the ground as the cars and drivers line up, side by side pushing the pedal to the metal. The drivers are ready, the cars are ready, the track is ready, and we know you are ready.
Opening night racing starts at 5:30 p.m. Pit gates open at 2:30 and grandstands open at 3:30. Pill draw closes and the first drivers meeting is at 4:30. Drivers must sign themselves in and sign the appropriate paperwork each week. Hot laps immediately after drivers meeting with last session taking the track at 5:20.
Driver registration can be completed by visiting the I-35 Speedway website at i35speedway.net.
I-35 Speedway continues the weekly tradition of youth 18 and younger (ID may be requested) free. Last year there were rookies in all classes and track management wants to continue to grow our sport through this program supporting the youth of America. For the adults older than 18 the admission price is $15, for our Seniors (62+) and Military the admission is $12. Fan of the week continues in 2023.
Minors and parents, please read and comply. Before a minor takes the track there must be a completed Minor’s release for all competitors 17 and younger and it must include a copy of the birth certificate with either a valid state stamp or authentic seal. Additionally, all minors must provide a driver resume or profile containing all racing experience of the young driver and their parents, and it must be in pdf or word format (in other words cannot be handwritten). For Minor’s the resume is required to be attached to the Minor Release. Finally, the Minor’s Release will require both parents notarized signature on the parental consent. All of this must be completed before the minor driver can take the track!
