Carney cashes in on Fan Appreciation Night at Vado

Vado Speedway Park hosted its annual Fan & Driver Appreciation Night on Saturday, John Carney Sr. outdueled Donavon Flores and Lucas Ward in a thrilling USRA B-Mod feature to race to his first ever win at Vado to cap off a great night to kick off the month of October.

The USRA B-Mods were the final race of the night for their 20-lap main and Carney, who started on the outside of the front row, took his No. 7C into the lead and led every lap en route to his first ever win at Vado, but not without heavy pressure from Flores and Ward in what was the best race of the night.

Carney rolled around the cushion for much of the event, but dropped to the low line on several occasions in lapped traffic to hold off Flores, who threw several sliders at Carney.

But Carney was up to the challenge and raced to the exciting win while Flores ran second with Ward third, followed by Justin Allen and Jonathon Ortega in the top five.

The Vado Speedway Park is off for the next two weeks and will resume action with the $22,000-to-win USRA Fall Nationals on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 21-23. USRA Modifieds, Medieval USRA Stock Cars and USRA B-Mods will be in action all three days.

For fans not able to attend in person, you can watch live at WatchFYE.tv.
