Duvall wires USRA American Racer Modified Series at Super Bee Speedway

Joe Duvall won the USRA Modified main event.

Joe Duvall won the USRA Modified main event.

With Chris Henigan hoping to tip-toe to a championship, Joe Duvall said ‘Not so fast’ by being the fastest Saturday night when the USRA American Racer Modified Series presented by DAY Motor Sports invaded the Super Bee Speedway.

Fresh off a top-five finish the previous night at the Ark-La-Tex Speedway, Duvall notched his second victory with the series and second at the Chatham, La., clay oval.

From the outside of the front row, Duvall took control when the green flag waved and led all 25 laps to take the $2,000 top prize back home to Justice, Okla.

He led all 30 laps here back in April, proving ‘Big Daddy’ can drive 55.

Despite leading from start to finish, Duvall had to navigate lapped traffic and pressure from Cade Dillard, who was looking for his third straight ARMS triumph.

Duvall was up for the challenge, and survived the race’s first caution with two laps remaining to keep Henigan in his crosshairs for the points championship.

Polesitter Michael Walker held off Bo Day for third while Henigan raced his way from the eighth starting spot to finish fifth at the checkered flag.

Jade Luzenberg, Manuel Williams II, Tommy Cannon, Chris Dawson and Broc Bowen rounded out the top 10 finishers on the final score cards.

During the pre-race pit meeting Saturday, American Racer awarded $100 cash to Triston Dycus, Jake Huckaby and Mason Williams in a random draw among racers who pre-entered for tonight’s show.

One event remains on the 2022 schedule for the USRA American Racer Modified Series presented by Day Motor Sports with Henigan holding a 47-point cushion over Duvall in the standings.

Even if Duvall wins both, a pair of top-10 finishes will seal the deal for Henigan with a check for $4,000 awaiting the points champion.

Dycus struggled to an 11th-place finish on Saturday which mathematically eliminated the defending series champ from contention to repeat.

Mason Williams II is currently fourth in ARMS points, followed by Kenny Gaddis, Dawson, Cannon, Sean Gaddis, Mason Williams and Jeremy LaCoe in the top 10.

The inaugural ARMS Nationals takes place Nov. 4-5 at the Rocket Raceway Park in Petty, Texas, with $2,000 to win Friday and $3,000 to win Saturday’s finale.

Register here for the ARMS Nationals and save money plus get eligible for one of three $100 cash drawings each race night.

The Rocket Raceway Park holds 3,400 spectators and its elevated grandstands offer superb viewing from any seat. The venue can be found in Lamar County—about 15 minutes west of Paris and 25 minutes east of Bonham in North Texas. The physical location is 16369 US-82, Petty, TX 75470.
