Brown, Vsetecka, Kath collect final checkers at Chateau Speedway
Jackson Vsetecka won the Medieval USRA Stock Car main event.
The 66th Anniversary Season of racing action came to a conclusion Friday night at the Chateau Speedway powered by Garlick’s Water in Lansing, Minn.
The night's program was sponsored by Cole's Electric and Joe Vogt Custom Pumping with three summit USRA Weekly Racing Series classes on hand for the season finale.
A couple drivers waited until the last night of the 2022 season to score their first feature wins of the year.
In the Medieval USRA Stock Cars, Jackson Vsetecka of Fort Atkinson, Iowa, made his first trip to Chateau Speedway a memorable one as he picked up the feature win.
Running second most of the race, he worked to the front with just four laps to go to take the win.
Dan Mackenthun of Hamburg and Lynn Panos of Calmer, Iowa, had the heat wins.
Dustin Brown of Thorton, Iowa, made it look easy as he scored a pair of wins in the USRA Modifieds and led every lap of his heat and feature to sweep the class for the night.
He finished with big leads including almost a half-track avantage in the feature to leave everyone in the dust.
Darwin Karau took the other heat win.
In USRA B-Mod action, Kobie Kath of Owatonna came home with the feature win in the final race of the night and the season.
Jayme Hiller of Waseca, Zach Elward of Hayfield and Gage Motl of Owatonna grabbed heat wins.
Chateau Speedway will hold their awards banquet on Saturday, Dec. 10, at Lansing Corners Supper Club. Contact the track for reservations.
The 2023 season is tentatively set to get underway Friday, May 5, with a test 'n' tune during the week leading up to the season opener.
