Gemmill, Hodges light up 81 Speedway winner's circle
The 81 Speedway season is heading to the finish line, and with the lights around the track a bit darker this Saturday following damage from lightning, the stars shined brightly on the 3/8-mile racing surface.
The USRA B-Mods presented by BSB Manufaturing went green to checkers with USRA national points contender Gabe Hodges at the front and only challenged by his teammate Reece Solander.
Once Hodges saw the nose of Sollander's car, he quickly changed lines and protected his position to take the win with Solander second and Kenton Allen nabbing third.
The USRA Modifieds brought to you by Alternative Pest Management had trouble staying green, but up at the front the No. G3 of Brendon Gemmil was checking out on the field.
With “Sally” under the hood, he looked good cruising into O'Reilly Auto Parts Victory Lane with Paden Phillips second and Tad Davis third.
As the regular season heads to the checkers, we want to thank everyone that has helped out. We hope the lights will have some resolution soon but until then we will continue with temporary lighting. We also thank you all that attended, raced or crewed. See ya at the races…
