Chad Abernathy won the Sunoco USRA Factory Stock main event.

Another Saturday night, another barn-burner for the racers and fans at the Rocket Raceway Park on By-Line Surveying Championship Night for the KR Cup presented by Parkway Buick GMC.

With a plump field of 42 Sunoco USRA Factory Stocks on hand, the battles were fierce and thrilling from the drop of the green flag, but in the end it was Chad Abernathy of Mt. Ida, Ark., holding off Bryce Pritchett of Crandall for the win.

Neil Kemp, who started 11th on the grid, claimed third-place money while 14th-starting Alan Screws of Pickton followed from the back half of the pack to get fourth.

Deaon Redmon of Paris finished fifth in the feature race and locked up the track championship. Pickton finished second in the track’s final points standings,

Seventh-starting Pritchett followed his Factory Stock effort with a win in the Medieval USRA Stock Car main event while runner-up John Winters of Pattonville won the season-long points battle at the track.

Lee McCullough of Combine was third at the finish line followed by Sherman shoes Jeremy Henry and Jeffery Hill.

Capturing his tenth feature win of the season in the USRA Limited Mods, Rowdy Day of Greenville had to best the division’s track champion, Billy Brierton of Greenville, to do it.

Meanwhile, Shannon Hartline of Ivanhoe took third, Chad Ross of Sulphur Springs was fourth and Jason Gamez of Dallas completed the top five.

On the launch pad: With the championship points races in the rearview mirror, the Rocket Raceway Park is preparing for a colossol four-event finale to wrap up this exciting 2022 season under the direction of Kevin Rogers and Kevin Sustaire.

Saturday, Sept. 3, will feature the American Racer Modified Series presented by Day Motor Sports as the USRA Modifieds headline the 8th Annual Bryan Mize Memorial presented by Walker, Warren & Jordan Surveying & Mapping, ABEL Truck & Trailer Sales and Pinnacle Roofing & Construction.
On Saturday, Sept. 17, it’s the 2nd Annual Cowboy Up Classic and one month later the 7th Annual SmackDown takes place Friday and Saturday, Oct. 21-22.

The American Racer Modified Series returns for the series finale on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 4-5, as the palace of power in Petty hosts the inaugural ARMS Nationals.

The Rocket Raceway Park holds 3,400 spectators and its elevated grandstands offer superb viewing from any seat. The venue can be found in Lamar County—about 15 minutes west of Paris and 25 minutes east of Bonham. The physical location is 16369 US-82, Petty, TX 75470.
