Trevor Hughes won the USRA Modified main event at the Rocket Raceway Park in Petty, Texas, on Saturday, July 30, 2022.

The Rocket Raceway Park in Petty, Texas, presented another fast and furious night of dirt track racing Saturday with 121 entries looking for glory in the KR Cup presented by Parkway Buick GMC.

Leading the first of four Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series divisions, the USRA Modifieds were on tap for another round of the Rocket Challenge with Trevor Hughes of Salina, Okla., notching his career-first victory in the class.

Manuel Williams II of Fouke, Ark., held off 14th-starting Jeremy Vaughn of Pocola, Okla., for second while Jack Sartain of Terrell finished fourth ahead of 13th-starting Jason Webb of McKinney.

Bryce Pritchett of Crandall started second in two full-fendered feature races and steered his way into Ballistic Trailers Victory Lane in both races.

Pritchett topped the Medieval USRA Stock Car main event with Lee McCullough of Combine second and polesitter Jeremy Henry of Sherman in third.

Two drivers from Muskogee, Okla.—David Whittle and Mike Wiseman—finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

Pritchett did it again in the feature race for the Sunoco USRA Factory Stocks.

Brian McHenry of Quinlan settled for runner-up honors while Powderly pilots Brandon Stowell and Marty Hicks were third and fourth, followed by Alan Screws of Pickton rounding out the top five.

From the outside of the fourth row, Billy Brierton of Greenville maneuvered his way to victory in the USRA Limited Mod main event.

Cody King of Fanshawe, Okla., claimed the second-place paycheck, third went to 15th-starting Shannon Hartline of Ivanhoe, Jacob Campbell of Hackett, Ark., crossed the finish line in fourth and Chad Ross of Sulphur Springs completed the top five.

On the launch pad: Action next Saturday, Aug. 6, will see another round of the KR Cup presented by Parkway Buick GMC featuring Medieval USRA Stock Cars, USRA Limited Mods, Sunoco USRA Factory Stocks, Buckmeyer Motorsports Eco-Mods, Camp Gladiator-Emory Jr Limited Modifieds and Optimum Collision Trooper Cruisers, plus the return of the Rocket Challenge for USRA Modifieds.

The pit gate opens at 5 p.m., grandstands open at 6:30, the draw closes and drivers meeting begins at 7:45 and hot laps begin at 8 with the National Anthem and racing to follow.

The Rocket Raceway Park holds 3,400 spectators and its elevated grandstands offer superb viewing from any seat. The venue can be found in Lamar County—about 15 minutes west of Paris and 25 minutes east of Bonham. The physical location is 16369 US-82, Petty, TX 75470.
