Derek Green won the Medieval USRA Stock Car main event.

The crowd at the Sports Park Raceway powered by Fort Dodge Ford Lincoln Toyota on Friday night were witness to a fantastic show of talent on the racetrack and a fireworks show in the sky for the “Dicky Marsh Memorial.”

With five classes competing for Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series track, regional and national points, it was an explosive night of entertainment at the half-mile dirt oval.

The USRA Modifieds saw Colton Horner of Houston, Texas, fend off Devon Havlik of Waterloo to take the $700 win and end Havlik’s two-race win streak.

Doug Smith of Lake City, Dustin Brown of Thornton and Andy Tiernan of Madrid rounded out the top five at the checkered flag.

Derek Green of Granada, Minn., pocketed $800 and bested a stout field of Medieval USRA Stock Cars including veteran racer Bill Crimmins of Fort Dodge who followed Green to the finish line.

Eagle Grove’s Parker Slagle, Hunter Longnecker of Woodward and last week’s winner Reid Keller of Webster City claimed the third, fourth and fifth spots.

USRA B-Mods saw Brandon Toftee of Otho race from the fifth starting spot to claim the $700 top prize over Hunter Longnecker, Jason Bass of Fort Dodge, Jerid Ratzke of Webster City and polesitter Jeremiah Reed of Otho.

USRA Hobby Stocks battled for $400 to win and Jeremy Crimmins of Fort Dodge led every lap to claim the victory.

Kolby Goepel of Britt settled for the runner-up spot, Brandon Nielsen of Spencer took third, Josh Sidles of Emmetsburg finished fourth and Bryce Sommerfeld of Fort Dodge wound up fifth/

Riley Paysen of Wall Lake earned a $200 paycheck after winning the USRA Tuner feature race over points leader Oliver Monson of Humboldt.

Defending track champion Jade Lange of Humboldt was third, fourth went to Marshalltown’s John Gill and LaDon Sams of Fort Dodge made the short drive home with fifth-place money.

Next event: After a one-week break, the Sports Park Raceway powered by Fort Dodge Ford Lincoln Toyota is back in action Friday, June 3, with the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series featuring USRA Modifieds, Medieval USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Mods, USRA Hobby Stocks and USRA Tuners. The Nostalgia Dirt Series will be back for a second visit that night too.
