Centerville Super Speedway sidelined one more week
The owners and staff at the Centerville Super Speedway have been hard at work on repairs from recent storm damage and some upgrades during the hiatus from Friday night racing action.
"We have all the parts now, everything we need to get it all done. Just like racers have been facing tire shortages, some things I just couldn’t get locally. We got new LED lighting and replaced some older light poles. It should be brighter than ever here at the track," said track owner Wayne Tidwell.
Some work has been going on for a retaining wall behind the grandstand bleachers as well as various areas of fencing, sidewalks, and other necessary upgrades and improvements. Plans are to work on the concessions next to get those in tip top shape.
The racetrack will be forced once again this Friday, May 20, to suspend the racing program to finish the repairs and upgrades. The track will have a grand re-opening on Friday, May 27, with a huge blowout racing program.
Next Friday, May 27, the ‘Outlaw Track of the South’ will host the summier USRA Weekly Racing Series featuring USRA B-Mods plus five other divisions.
Gates open at 6 p.m. and racing action gets underway at 9.
Adult admission is $20, kids 6-12 are $6. Children 5 and under get in for free. Pit passes are $36.
