Burton, Allen celebrate Ciudad Juárez Night victories at Vado Speedway Park

Justin Allen won the USRA B-Mod main event.

Justin Allen won the USRA B-Mod main event.

The Vado Speedway Park in Vado, N.M., was back in action on Saturday night, May 14, for another Hot City Nights event on Ciudad Juárez Night.

The Medieval Stock Car feature was the second main of the night and Bryan Bennett and Jonathan Burton shared the front row in what would turn out to be a two-car duel out front all night long.

Burton took control from the outside of the front row on the start and never really looked back, although Bennett was able to pressure Jonathan out front on several occasions.

The leaders drove off out front, while Rob Moseley, Jose Salazar and Josh Reynolds did work inside the top five for the majority of the race, but none could get any closer than third as Burton raced to the win and Bennett crossed the line in second.

The USRA B-Mod main event was the fourth on the schedule and two-time winner Jesse Haynie earned the pole and took off at the drop of the green into the lead with Justin Allen, Dustin Smith, Lucas Ward and Israel Ortega doing battle just behind for second.

With Haynie leading, the battle for second was excellent for the majority of the feature event.

Mingo Jauregui and Christy Barnett joined the battle for second after the mid-point of the race, making it a six-car battle behind the leader.

Haynie raced off to his third win of the season with Allen besting Smith for second at the line when the checkered flag flew.

The Vado Speedway Park will be back in action this coming Saturday night, May 21st with another Hot City Nights event. Gates open at 5 and racing begins at 7:30.

For fans not able to attend in person, all events held during the 2022 season at the Vado Speedway Park will also be live streamed online by PayPerView at WatchFYE.tv.
