The weather finally cooperated and Fayette County Speedway in West Union, Iowa was finally able to get its 2022 racing season underway Friday night.

The USRA B-Mod feature was one to remember as veteran driver Jason Schlangen made a pass in turn four on the final lap to take the checkered flag.

Ben Moudry was the man to beat throughout the majority of the race, but ended his night in the runner-up spot.

In third was Josh Roney with Alex Zwanziger grabbing the fourth spot and Colby Mann rounding out the top five.

The hard charger for the night was Dan Hovden who advanced seven spots in the feature. Hovden made a brief appearance inside the top four, but slipped back to finish in seventh.

In the USRA Tuner feature, which paid $600 to the winner, Castalia’s Brad Stahl led it from green to checkered and captured his first win of the season in the FCS Tuner Bash.

In second was Justin Anderson followed by Isaiah Holzer in third, Josh Harms in fourth and Levi Hansmeier in fifth.

Dylan Clinton picked up right where he left off last season as he cruised to a feature win in the USRA Hobby Stock main event.

Decorah’s Paul Seabrooke made a late charge in the final lap but finished in second after moving up five spots in the feature.

Dru Kueker finished third after leading in the opening laps, while Scott Spilde was fourth and Junior Boyer was fifth.

In the Medieval USRA Stock Car feature, Mitch Hovden went wire-to-wire to get win No. 1 of the season.

He held off Brady Link, who finished second, and hard charger Kyle Falck in the third position.

Brayden Gjere took fourth place while Kevin Donlan rounded out the top five.
