Diamond Park Speedway joins growing family of USRA racetracks in Arkansas
The owners of the Diamond Park Speedway have joined forces with United States Racing Association (USRA) alongside several other Arkansas tracks for the 2022 racing season.
The agreement will put the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series deep into the South Arkansas area and add to a growing list of sanctioned facilities in the Ark-La-Tex region.
Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series divisions competing at the 1/3-mile red clay oval will include Sunoco USRA Factory Stocks and USRA Tuners. Plans are to possibly add USRA Modifieds and/or USRA B-Mods occasionally during the upcoming season.
"We added another track that we own to the USRA family just to the north of Diamond Park and thought this was the perfect fit," said track owner Wayne Tidwell. "So many cars in this area are USRA legal so we wanted to give them options where they could run for state and national points.”
Diamond Park Speedway is coming off a successful 2021 campaign that saw weekly car counts climb into the sixties and classes grow. There will be only a few administrative changes to the classes that were part of the 2021 season. Sportsmans, Arkansas Factory Stocks (formerly Pure Stocks) and Mod Lites will join the USRA divisions.
Of note, one class per week will pay $1,000 to win and $50 to start every Saturday night throughout the 2022 season.
Diamond Park Speedway once again will be the spot on Saturday nights starting March 19 for opening night. Gates will open at 5 p.m., hot laps at 7 and racing at 7:30.
A full schedule will be finalized at DPSdirt.com and should be available soon. Also, make sure to follow the Diamond Park Speedway on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for updated information.
