Simmons wins USRA Modified feature at Humboldt Speedway
HUMBOLDT, Kan. - "Lightning" Jack Simmons, patriarch of Keith and Zack and racer of anything with wheels, has had a tough year.
That is, up until Friday, Aug. 8, when he blasted the Humboldt Speedway USRA Modified field.
It was a wire-to-wire win for Simmons—his first this year at The Hummer.
Starting from the pole, Simmons might have faced a challenge from runner-up Jess Folk Jr. given five more laps.
Folk, meanwhile, had to work hard to pass third place Scott Daniels.
Casey Jesseph turned in a strong fourth, with Dennis Bishop fifth.
