WICHITA FALLS, Texas—The USRA Modifieds along with four other classes, will tackle the super-fast ¼-mile of Red River Speedway this Friday, March 13. The pits open by 5 p.m., grandstands at 6, draw cut-off is 7:15 and the first race takes the green flag at 8 p.m.

We’re keeping an eye on the ever-changing weather forecast, and we’ll let everyone know if the storm system coming in later tonight affects our Friday night racing program or not. Check our website and Facebook page for up-to-the-minute updates as they become available.

Adult grandstand (ages 12-64) tickets are $12. Seniors and active military with I.D. are $8. Kids ages 11 and under are free with adult ticket purchase. All pit passes, all ages are $30.

If you have yet to register your car for the 2015 RRS season, you can do so upon your arrival; but please try to get there early, as we will be staying on schedule.

The racing program for Friday, March 20, features USRA Modifieds plus Sprint Cars, Southern Sports Mods, Factory Stocks and Pro Stocks. Rules and links are posted at the track website. Please check your division rules before submitting questions, to save us all time.

The USRA Modifieds will have a higher total purse than in 2014, plus on any regularly scheduled night if there are over 20 cars an even higher purse structure will be in effect.

In 2015, the base purse is $4,290 and will be distributed as follows: 1. $700, 2. $500, 3. $400, 4. $350, 5. $300, 6. $250, 7. $200, 8. $180, 9. $160, 10. $150, 11. $140, 12. $130, 13. $120, 14. $110, 15-20. $100.

However, if there are 21 or more entries, then the total purse jumps from . $4,290 to . $5,180.

The “21 and up” purse is as follows: 1. $700, 2. $500, 3. $400, 4. $350, 5. $300, 6. $250, 7. $225, 8. $200, 9. $190, 10. $180, 11. $170, 12. $160, 13. $150, 14. $140, 15. $135, 16. $130, 17-24. $125 (Note: 24 starters instead of 20).

Drivers, what this means is you are in more control of your purse structure. If you help rally other drivers in your division to support RRS in 2015, you will be rewarded by getting paid more at each normal event.

The only nights when this policy is not in effect is when there is a special event in the division, and those purses will be posted in advance.
