EAGLE RIVER, Wis. (July 8, 2025)—Defending USRA Late Model national champion Cade Nelson stormed past Jim Falls racer Jason McFadden into the lead on lap 12 and went on to capture the USRA Late Model feature on "Christmas in July" at Eagle River Speedway Tuesday.

The victory was the third of the season at the third-mile, clay oval for the Hermantown, Minn., racer.

McFadden outraced polesitter Dave Bennett of Eagle River into the lead at the drop of the green of the 20-lap contest. McFadden kept his racer on the high line, while Nelson and Bennett engaged in a spirited battle for the runner-up spot for several circuits.

A lap-9 caution tightened the field, and Nelson hugged the lower groove, squeezing past McFadden with eight laps remaining. The second-generation driver cruised to victory.

McFadden settled for second place money while Bennett, Lucas Peterson of Stockholm and Tomahawk's Travis Friske placed third through fifth, respectively.
