Nine Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series regional champions were crowned at the end of the 2024 racing season in the USRA Modified, USRA Stock Car and USRA B-Mod divisions.

Week after week from the end of winter to the end of fall, thousands of racers compete in Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series events around America for the past 23 years, and this year 2,268 drivers earned regional points at 52 different dirt tracks.

PBM Performance Products USRA Central Region driven by MVT

Houston Johnson, 25, of Kansas City, Mo., captured the title in the PBM Performance Products USRA Central Region driven by MVT, holding off fellow I-35 Speedway regular Tyler Hibner from Chillicothe, Mo., and Tyler Grooms of Trenton, Mo.

Johnson, the son of track owners Mike and Kyle Johnson, rattled off 10 wins, 33 top-fives and 36 top-tens in his 38 starts. He scored points racing at the Humboldt Speedway, I-35 Speedway, Lucas Oil Speedway and Monett Motor Speedway.

Houston Johnson won the USRA Modified title in the PBM Performance Products USRA Central Region driven by MVT.

Jaylen Wettengel was the region’s best in the USRA Stock Cars, edging Atchison, Kan., racers Chris Dishong and Corey Myers in the final regional standings.

The 24-year-old from Topeka, Kan., knocked out 32 race nights where he won nine main events to go along with his 26 top-fives and 30 top-ten finishes racing at the I-35 Speedway, Lakeside Speedway and Lucas Oil Speedway.

Forty-six-year-old Patrick Lewis of Wellsville, Mo., competed in 44 events in the PBM Performance Products USRA Central Region, and outpaced Tyler Kidwell and Jake Richards for the honor.

Lewis raced 44 times, and although the winner’s circle eluded him, he notched 12 top-five finishes and an impressive 34 top-tens as he rolled around the Caney Valley Speedway, Humboldt Speedway, I-35 Speedway, Lakeside Speedway, Lucas Oil Speedway and Monett Motor Speedway.

Christie Door Company USRA Northern Region driven by MVT

The Christie Door Company USRA Northern Region driven by MVT found two former Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series champions and one long-time contender finally breaking through.

On the heels of back-to-back USRA B-Mod national titles, Joe Chisholm of Osage, Iowa, reached two milestones in 2024: the USRA Modified Regional Championship and the green light to legally celebrate his achievements with an adult beverage.

Chisholm, who turned 21 years old in March, outscored Darwin Karau of Kasson, Minn., and J.T. Wasmund of Pine Island, Minn. His older brother, Jim Chisholm, is also a two-time USRA B-Mod national champ and this year’s USMTS National Champion.

Joe Chisholm registered 10 wins, 23 top-fives and 26 top-ten finishes in his 26 starts at the Chateau Speedway, Deer Creek Speedway, Mason City Motor Speedway and Mississippi Thunder Speedway.

Brandon Hare won the 2010 and 2011 USRA B-Mod National Championships, got a third crown in 2024, but this time in a USRA Stock Car.

The 38-year-old racer from Elma, Iowa, bested Travis Shipman of Mason City, Iowa, and Decorah, Iowa’s Kevin Donlan while capturing 5 wins, 23 top-fives and 32 top-tens in 37 events at the Chateau Speedway, Cresco Speedway, Deer Creek Speedway, Fayette County Speedway, Hamilton County Speedway, Mason City Motor Speedway and Mississippi Thunder Speedway.

Ty Griffith of Webster City, Iowa, has been chasing USRA B-Mod wins for many years now, and picked up the regional top honors in the Christie Door Company USRA Northern Region driven by MVT.

The Blairsburg, Iowa, pilot outscored up-and-comer Harley Dais of Winona, Minn., and Kaeden Bronner from Austin, Minn., during his 56 events at the Chateau Speedway, Fairmont Raceway, Hamilton County Speedway, Mason City Motor Speedway and Sports Park Raceway.

Ty Griffith was the USRA B-Mod champion in the Christie Door Company USRA Northern Region driven by MVT.

Griffith scored 18 victories during the 2024 campaign to go along with 35 top-fives and 42 top-tens. His efforts not only earned him his seventh straight USRA B-Mod track championship at the Hamilton County Speedway, but his first USRA B-Mod National Championship.

MSD Performance USRA Southern Region driven by MVT

A rookie contender from Oklahoma and two friends from New Mexico raced to become 2024 season champs in MSD Performance USRA Southern Region driven by MVT.

In the USRA Modified division, rookie contender Troy Martin Jr. of Wagoner, Okla., outscored fellow Sooner State speedsters Eddie Martin of Stilwell, Okla., and Nathan Hagar of Adair, Okla., for top honors.

While competing in 47 events in the region, the 29-year-old Troy Martin made trips to the Arrowhead Speedway, Crawford County Speedway, Creek County Speedway, Rocket Raceway Park, Tri-State Speedway and Tulsa Speedway, scoring 12 top-fives and 30 top-ten finishes.

Adding more hardware to his trophy room, Josh Cain of Rio Rancho, N.M., added the USRA Stock Car regional crown over Arkansas racers Jeff Metcalf of Gentry and Hackett’s Kyle Hamby.

Now a two-time Summit USRA Nationals winner, Cain was able to register a top-five finish in each of his 35 starts in the region. He won 28 of those while competing at the Arrowhead Speedway, Legacy Speedway, Sandia Speedway and Vado Speedway Park.

Rob Moseley, Los Lunas, N.M., topped the USRA B-Mod regional points, adding to the 26-yeard-old’s fourth-place finish in the USRA Stock Cars.

“Mr. Rob” bested Tye Hollingsworth of Springdale, Ark., and Ty O'Neal of Muskogee, Okla., to claim the title, racing 29 times and winning 13 features with 21 top-fives and 26 top-ten finishes in events held at the Legacy Speedway, Sandia Speedway and Vado Speedway Park.
