The Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series saw eight drivers snag Swift Springs Rookie of the Year awards in the USRA Modified, Medieval USRA Stock Car, USRA B-Mod, USRA Hobby Stock, USRA Late Model, USRA Limited Mod, Sunoco USRA Factory Stock and USRA Tuner divisions.

Each Swift Springs Rookie of the Year in 2023 will receive a one-of-a-kind plaque and cash awards as well.

The top rookies in the USRA Modifieds, Medieval USRA Stock Cars and USRA B-Mods will each get $500. USRA Limited Mods and Sunoco USRA Factory Stocks are racing for $350 cash while Hobby Stock and Late Model competitors are gunning for $300. The top rookie in the USRA Tuner class will earn $200.

Swift Springs also padded the points funds for all classes in 2023.

Rookie racers in the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series will once again be hunting the Swift Springs USRA Rookie of the Year Award in their division in 2024.

Cash, trophies and contingencies designated for rookie competitors shall be awarded to drivers who fulfill and meet all minimum requirements for eligibility.

National points are used for rookie points determination. Driver may have participated in a maximum of ten (10) USRA events in his/her division prior to the current year to be eligible for rookie status.

B-Mod and/or Limited Mod drivers may have participated in a maximum of ten (10) Late Model or Modified events in a prior year. Hobby Stock competitors may have participated in a maximum of ten (10) Late Model, Modified, Stock Car, B-Mod or Limited Mod events in a prior year. Hobby Stock and/or Factory Stock competitors may have participated in a maximum of ten (10) Late Model, Modified, Stock Car, B-Mod and/or Limited Mod events in a prior year. Tuner drivers may have participated in a maximum of ten (10) events in any other USRA division in a prior year.

USRA Awards Banquet set for Jan. 27: The USRA and USMTS will host a joint awards banquet on Saturday, Jan. 27, inside the 9,792-square-foot Nevada Ballroom at the Harrah's Kansas City Hotel & Casino to celebrate the 2023 racing season for both organizations.

Tickets include a luxurious dinner featuring a plentiful selection of fine food and a succulent dessert bar. A cash bar will also be available. The cost is $65 per person and can be purchased by calling (515) 832-6000 weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Tickets sales are available through Friday, Dec. 22, at 12 noon, and then resume on Wednesday, Jan. 3, after the holiday break. The deadline to purchase tickets to the awards banquet is Friday, Jan. 12, at 4 p.m.
