Deadline to RSVP for Lucas Oil Speedway banquet is Thursday


With Lucas Oil Speedway's annual Postseason Championship Banquet less than one month away, deadline to reserve a ticket for the event is 1 p.m. this Thursday, Nov. 9.

The banquet is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 1 at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds' Center Hall in Springfield. Tickets to the banquet are $40 or $400 for a table of 10 and can be reserved by calling the speedway office at (417) 282-5984. RSVP deadline is Nov. 9.

Doors open with a social hour from 6-7 p.m. with invocation and dinner to follow at 7 p.m. The awards ceremony will follow.

Along with the track champions, top 10 drivers in season points will receive their prizes and several specialty awards will be presented. Those include Most Popular Driver (which has been determined in online fan voting), Best Appearing Race Car - this year in each of the four divisions - as selected by GS Stanek Racing Photography and speedway staff plus the Forrest Lucas Lifetime Achievement Award for contributions to the sport of racing.

Along with drivers, family members, crew and sponsors the event is open to the general public. The Ozark Empire Fairgrounds is located at 3001 N. Grant Ave., in Springfield.
