Slader scores in Salute to Heroes

Kyle Slader won the USRA B-Mod main event.

Kyle Slader won the USRA B-Mod main event.

On Saturday, October 14, at the Elk City Motorsports Parl, the Sooner Limited Mod Series had the race of the year with a total of 71 cars running double heats with a transfer switch

If you started up front on your first heat then you'll be more than likely in the back on the next heat, but you would not be racing the same drivers every time. This gave drivers an equal advantage, and provided a better show for the fans because they didn't know who had the advantage of each heat.

Kyle Slader showed off his speed since night one at practice and never slowed down the whole weekend, but track champion Jeffrey Kaup dominated both of his heats which put him on the pole of the feature.

Everybody had their eyes on him, thinking that he may had something for the USRA B-Mods but with the track being totally different the next night he felt like he missed the setup and just couldn't get the drive he needed.

Robert Elliott showed no mercy though. Starting from the 17th position, he ended up finishing fifth.

At the end of the night, Slader was the man to beat with Reece Solander finishing second, defending USRA Limited Mod national champion Rowdy Day third and Cody King finishing fourth.
