This Saturday at I-35 Speedway is the Bud Wilson Memorial presented by CSI Overhead Door. This is also a Power Wheels night, so get the kids ready for racing.

As we remember Bud Wilson, we remember he brought love to the racing community, lpve for the immediate family, love for each other and love for our sport. He had a passion for racing as both a competitor, race fan and mentor to the younger generation.

Everyone was touched by Wilson in various roles, as a fellow competitor at the track, a co-worker, dad, uncle, son, husband, brother and friend, He touched many in his 48 years and touched several even in his passing as an organ donor.

In action this Saturday will be the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series featuring USRA Modifieds, Medieval USRA Stock Cars and USRA B-Mods, plus Sport Compacts, Pure Stocks, E-Mods, Midwest Limited Late Models and the Vintage Open cars.

Seven weeks of I-35 Speedway racing remains.

Nine racers have won in the Medieval USRA Stock Cars, five have finished first in the USRA Modifieds and six USRA B-Mods have claimed victory.

As anyone can see the competition is extremely close in all classes at I-35 Speedway. On any given Saturday, it could be anyone who wins.

Gates open at 4:30 P.M. Adults $15, Senior and Military $12, Youth – 18 and under Free (ID may be requested). Located at Exit 64 off Interstate 35 (1/4 east of Interstate). Free Parking. Mom approved restrooms.

Concessions at Trackside Bar and Grill (Turn 1) and at gate entrance (Turn 4) - funnel cakes, chili dogs, large tenderloins, hot fries, walking tacos, hot dogs, hamburgers, popcorn, and tea, water, pop, coffee, hot chocolate, or beer.

Pit gates open at 3:30 P.M. Driver’s meeting and pill draw close 6:00 P.M., Hot Laps 6:20 P.M. to 6:50 P.M. First heat race: 7:00 P.M. Pit passes: Drivers $35, Pit Crew and Pit Spectators $40, Kids 6-10 $25, Kids under 5 – Free.

I-35 Speedway Driver registration: Register with I-35 Speedway (myracepass.com) or print form at www.i-35speedway.net complete and bring with you. One-night temporary registration $15.

Fuel (110 and Premium) is available for sale at the track. American Racer tires are also for sale at the track. Also available Champion Race Products (oil, power steering fluid, brake fluid, gear oil).

Minors (17 and under): Everyone age 17 and under must have a completed Minor’s release to enter pits.

Competitors Minor’s Release: Must be a completed Minor’s release for all competitors 17 and younger AND it must include a copy of the birth certificate with either a valid state stamp or authentic seal.

Summit USRA Nationals nears: The 10th Annual Summit USRA Nationals powered by Chevrolet Performance returns to the "Diamond of Dirt Tracks" on October 2-7. This year's event will feature USRA Modifieds, Medieval USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Mods, USRA Hobby Stocks and USRA Tuners.

Racers are encouraged to register online now at myracepass.com/usranationals or you can download the entry form here and then mail or fax your completed form. You can also call the USRA office at (515) 832-6000 to sign up.
