Chris Mercer won the Medieval USRA Stock Car main event.

One hundred thirty-four cars checked in for Tompkins Industries Night at I-35 Speedway on Saturday, May 13. Fans were treated to some great action in all classes as the drivers put on a show like no other.

The USRA B-Mods produced another exciting race as Shadren Turner parked his J2 Chassis in McCarthy Autogroup Victory Lane again.

It looked like it was going to be a repeat of last week’s race between Turner, Tyler Cadwallader and points leader Daniel Harris before a mechanical failure ended Harris’s night.

Cadwallader kept pace and finished second, Ethan Issacs got a podium finish in his first trip to I-35 Speedway this season, and Tim Eaton made a last-lap pass on Lucas Isaac for fourth.finishing fourth, while Isaac’s finished fifth.

Chris Mercer picked up his second Medieval USRA Stock Car feature win of the season, and his second in three weeks.

Jeff Dixon and Gerald Wahwahsuck put the pressure on but Mercer held on for the victory.

Dixon came home right behind him in second, Tommy Ground returned this week and finished third, Brandon Dixon gained seven positions finishing fourth and Wahwahsuck was fifth.

Former Modified track champion and multi-time feature winner Steven Glenn returned in the USRA Modifieds and looked to be on his way to another win.

Glenn led the first 15 circuits with numerous challenges but saw that win escape his grasp with Matt Johnson took home the trophy in his first trip to I-35 Speedway this season.

Points leader Houston Johnson was second, Darren Shaw brought his new No. 711 up to a podium finish in third, Lee Hibner rebounded to finish fourth and Ben Stockton, gearing up for the Mike Tanner Memorial on June 10, finished fifth in his first trip to I-35 Speedway this season.

Congratulations to this week’s fan of the week Reagan Penning sponsored by DC Racing, Aaron Jones Racing, C.A.R.B., Robb Racing, Shadren Turner Racing and Michael King Racing.

Make plans to join us next week for Larry McFee Trucking Night at the races as we will be joined for the first time this season by the kids' Power Wheels races.
