Duvall earns American Racer USRA Modified Series honors at Super Bee Speedway
Joe Duvall won the USRA Modified main event.
Oklahoma’s Joe Duvall captured the main event Saturday night as the American Racer USRA Modified Series presented by Day Motor Sports made their first visit to the Super Bee Speedway in Chatham, La.
‘Big Daddy’ led every lap from the outside of the front row to take top honors while polesitter Drake Findley of Bryant, Ark., followed the Justice, Okla., ace across the finish line.
Jade Luzenberg of Saucier, Miss., was third at the checkers, points leader Sean Gaddis of Diana, Texas, finished fourth and eighth-start Chris Dawson of Lubbock, Texas rounded out the top five.
The rest of the top ten were Chase Wascom of Denham Springs, La., Tanner Barnhart of N. Little Rock, Ark., Kenny Gaddis of Diana, Texas, Xavier Ortega of Las Cruces, N.M. and Wayne Hart Jr. of Carthage, Texas.
In other Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series action on Saturday, Mickey Steele of Ball topped the USRA Limited Mod field with Logan Griffin of Texarkana, Ark., Ben Leedy of Jonesboro, Joseph Shirley of Hornbeck and Prairieville’s Colton Davis completing the top five.
Victor Case of Jonesboro garnered a victory in the feature race for the Sunoco USRA Factory Stocks. Michael Harlow of Lake Charles came home in second, Mike Lavespere of Zachary took third, Dry Prong’s John Parker Jr. finished fourth and the fifth spot went to Matthew Driskill of Ruston.
In USRA Tuner action, Kobe Kulp of Eros found love at the flagstand as he bested Ava Cannady of Hodge for the win. Meanwhile, Wayne Anderson of Jonesboro, Justin Frith of W. Monroe and Chatham’s own Josie Irvin completed the top five.
With four events in the books, the 2023 campaign for the American Racer USRA Modified Series presented by Day Motor Sports is just getting started as 20 events remain on the calendar.
The schedule features 23 nights of racing at 15 of the finest dirt ovals in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. Each of the venues will host one or more events with a minimum of $2,000 to win and drivers earning points for the series points fund as well as Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series national points.
The series takes a Sunday drive tomorrow to wrap up the tripleheader weekend at the Ark-La-Tex Speedway in Vivian, La., where USRA Limited Mods, Sunoco USRA Factory Stocks and USRA Tuners are once again sharing the spotlight.
