With the Winneshiek County Fair in full swing, the Upper Iowa Speedway hosted a rare Thursday night event and gave fair-goers a heck of a show in the process.

Brad Waits captured his second straight USRA Modified crown, while the same can be said for Tom Schmitt (USRA Karl Chevrolet Stock Cars) and Matt Jones (USRA Karl Chevrolet B-Mods). Jason McDaniel (USRA Hobby Stocks) won his first title after finishing second last year.
The regular weekly competition at Decorah’s Upper Iowa Speedway is history, with only next week’s Season Championships remaining before the track goes silent for the remainder of fall and winter. Other than some problems with weather early on, it has been a fantastic year of racing, with each of the classes providing some of the best racing available anywhere.
